Description :
GCC, the GNU Compiler Collection, supports a number of languages. This
port installs the C, C++, Fortran and Java front ends as gcc47, g++47,
gfortran47, and gcj47, respectively.
It can be used interchangibly with the lang/gcc47 port which tracks
weekly upstream snapshots whereas this port will be updated less
frequently, mostly in sync with upstream releases, and will move to
lang/gcc48 and later over time.

Description :
The GNU Binutils are a collection of binary tools. The main ones are:
* ld - the GNU linker.
* as - the GNU assembler.
Most of these programs use BFD, the Binary File Descriptor library, to do
low-level manipulation. Many of them also use the opcodes library to assemble
and disassemble machine instructions.
This port may be used as a replacement for the system binutils and support
features from the latest versions of GCC.

Переход с OpenJDK7 на OpenJDK8 ознаменовал ещё одно чудо: OpenJDK перестал быть завязанным на GCC/GNU binutils! Порт OpenJDK8 (java/openjdk8) собирается с помощью системного LLVM/Clang 3.4 (во FreeBSD 10-STABLE).
